Lita Sandoval is an adornment and paper artist with an eye for beauty and style inspired by her New Mexico heritage, music, all things vintage, and the serendipitous mess of art supplies on her table.  She studied small metals and jewelry making at the University of New Mexico. She has been a teaching artist for various art centers and museums. Her work has been in several exhibitions at various galleries and art centers in Albuquerque, NM, including a four foot piñata for The Piñata Exhibit (Sure to be a Smash Hit!) at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Her biggest claim to fame is that Michelle Obama owns one of her bracelets!

Her latest venture is creating an all Latina Artist Trading Card project with her favorite NM artists. This is a labor of love for her that will eventually expand out of state to include Latina artists from all over the country.

In her spare time, she volunteers at the National Hispanic Cultural Center for their many art programs. She has a daughter who is a middle school language arts teacher and is the “auntie mom” to her niece who is working on her PhD in education. She has a regular 8-5 job that helps support her lavish art and craft supply collection.
